Joe Richardson lives and breathes bikes. From a very young age, his aspirations were very clear and, backed by a wealth of experience and passion for British Superbikes, the JR Performance Racing team started its journey in the 2019 season.

“I have been working in and around the motorsport industry since I was a young lad. I’ve remained as passionate from the first day I set eyes on a motorcycle. Over the years I have gained a huge amount of experience working alongside some of the industries leading technicians whilst
being a chassis mechanic in the paddocks high profile Superbike teams. Hence why I have now put all the experience, drive and passion into running my own motorcycle race team.”

The desire to help fuel young talent in the industry

JR Performance Racing, founded by Joe Richardson in January 2019, was born from Joe’s
deep-rooted passion for motorcycle racing. After 15 years working with top teams
in the BritishSuperbike paddock, Joe stepped away from a workshop career to build
his own racing team. his major success came quickly: partnering with Ben Luxton
in 2020, the team won the championship that year. Since then, JR Performance Racing
has focused on developing young talent, guiding riders like Joe Talbot
and Liam Delves. By 2022, both riders excelled in the Superstock series,
with outstanding performances in Superstock 600 and 1000cc Superstock.
Both riders have been able to move up to the premier class, a testament to the team’s
commitment and expertise in fostering racing talent.

Bennetts BSB has a huge following of fans who follow the championship around the UK, and that is a testament to the teams and riders who push themselves and their bikes to the limit, whilst never forgetting that they’re racing to entertain the massive crowds at the circuits.
