The desire to help fuel young talent in the industry

Joe Richardson lives and breathes bikes. From a very young age, his aspirations were very clear and, backed by a wealth of experience and passion for British Superbikes, the JR Performance Racing team started its journey in the 2019 season.

“I have been working in and around the motorsport industry since I was a young lad. I’ve remained as passionate from the first day I set eyes on a motorcycle. Over the years I have gained a huge amount of experience working alongside some of the industries leading technicians whilst
being a chassis mechanic in the paddocks high profile Superbike teams. Hence why I have now put all the experience, drive and passion into running my own motorcycle race team.”

The desire to help fuel young talent in the industry

JR Performance Racing was started by team owner Joe Richardson, in January 2019.
Joe started out working for himself in motorcycle services & repairs in 2018. But, having been a part of motorcycle racing for the best part of 15 years, the workshop environment wasn’t fulfilling his passion for the sport. Joe has worked for the majority of the big team names in the British Superbike paddock, and so, came to the decision that running his own team was the way forward.
After striking a deal with Ben Luxton in 2020 – Ben and the JR Performance racing team went on to win the title in 2020. Joe Now sets his sites on the 2021 season working with 2 young talented riders and hopes to retain the National Superstock 600 championship.
